Humana Network Notice - St. Joe
Important information for patients with Humana health insurance
Humana and St. Joseph Health System are currently renegotiating their contract to work together.
On November 1st members received a letter to notify that if an agreement is not reached by January 1st 2025 St. Joseph Health will be out-of-network with Humana Medicare Advantage Plans. This does not impact Humana Medicare Supplement Plans. For now, nothing changes and members should continue to see their doctors as normal. We encourage you to never delay the care you need.
While we fully expect that both sides will reach a new agreement, it is possible that they will not or will miss the January 1st 2025 deadline.

All Saint Joseph Health System hospitals, facilities, and employed providers are impacted by these contract negotiations.

What can I do to protect my in-network access to Saint Joseph Health System?
While the negotiations with Humana continue, you can take these steps to protect your access to in-network care with Saint Joseph Health System:
Never delay care. You will always be considered in-network in the event of an emergency.
The Medicare Annual Open Enrollment Period is between Oct. 15, 2024 through Dec. 7, 2024. If you have a Medicare Advantage plan administered by Humana, you can consider an alternative Medicare Advantage plan. We offer many other health plans that will protect your in-network access to Saint Joseph in 2025.
Currently, Anthem, Aetna, and UnitedHealthcare have contracts to work with St. Joseph Health.
